AirPods are quite easy to lose. Way too easy to lose. If you’re the forgetful kind, you can quite easily forget the small AirPods case. And a single AirPod is easy to lose in the gym or when changing clothes. Here’s how you can quickly and easily find lost AirPods (either a single AirPod or the case).

How to Find Lost AirPods By Playing a Sound

Thankfully, Apple thought about this. Hopefully, you won’t need to drop $69 to replace an AirPod. And there’s a Find my AirPods feature, just like Find my iPhone. In fact, it’s located inside the Find my iPhone app. And if you’ve enabled the Find my iPhone feature, the Find my AirPods feature is enabled automatically.

Doesn’t matter if you’ve lost a single AirPod or the AirPods case, you can easily find lost AirPods with the Find my iPhone app.

Step 1: Open the Find my iPhone app on your iPhone. If you haven’t’ started using it yet, log in with your iCloud account.

How to Find AirPods Case If They Are Offline

If you’ve left the AirPods case somewhere and they’ve run out of battery, your AirPods will be offline. If you’ve never used Find my iPhone, the AirPods will show up as offline the first time you try to find them after losing them.

But not all is lost. You can still navigate to the last location they were found online.

Step 1: Open the Find my iPhone app and tap on the AirPods from the list.
