You don’t have to be Kim Kardashian to find the ability to use multiple Instagram profiles helpful. Perhaps you have one for work and one for friends and family. Whatever the reason is for having more than one profile, Instagram made it pretty difficult to seamlessly switch between them.
Previously you needed to sign out and log in to the other account every time you needed to switch between the two accounts. So, even though they were both owned by you, Instagram treated it as if there were two different users on two different accounts. But now, you can easily switch back and forth between different Instagram profiles.
How to add multiple Instagram accounts and switch between them
Instagram announced on their Instagram account that account switching would be made available to all. “Starting this week, you can quickly and easily switch between multiple accounts on Instagram!” Now, while adding your second Instagram account isn’t the most obvious thing, we will take what we can get. Also, make note that this option is available for latest version of Instagram – version 7.15.
Here how to do it:
- Open your Instagram app and find the profile icon in the bottom-right corner. Looks like a silhouette of a person.
- Now, in the Profile section, tap the gear icon in the upper-right corner. This will take you to the Instagram Options page.
- In Options, scroll down until you see the About heading. It literally all the way at the bottom of the page. Near the bottom you will see the option, “Add Account”.
- Now sign in to Instagram as you normally would. If you don’t already have a second account, just sign up for one by tapping Sign Up at the bottom.
That is really all there is to it. Adding this feature makes it much more convenient to use multiple accounts, which in turn will increase the usage of the app and decrease the annoyance people had with it before this update.
