Apple yesterday released OS X Mavericks 10.9.3, an update to Mac OS X with improved 4K display support, iOS contacts and calendar sync and more. After updating, some Mac owners are reporting that their /Users folder has disappeared from the root directory of their file system in Finder.

Update: Apple has released an update to iTunes that fixes this issue. More details here.

If you’re facing the same issue, here’s how to get your Users folder back. Open Terminal by searching for it in Spotlight, and run the following command:

sudo chflags nohidden /Users

After pressing Enter, you’ll be asked to enter your Mac user account password. The prompt won’t show what you’re typing, but that’s normal, just continue entering your password and press enter. Once you’re done with this, you should see the /Users folder again in Finder.

Not all users are facing this issue, so we’re not sure if this change was intended on Apple’s part. Let us know in the comments if your Users folder disappeared, and if this command helped you get it back again.
