Spotify has announced a design update for the iOS app. The update arrives with three new design elements aimed at making it easier and intuitive to use Spotify.

It’s bigger. It’s bolder. It’s better than ever. No, we’re not talking about some artist’s new sound, but about the refreshed look that iOS users will enjoy on Spotify mobile starting today. Both Free and Premium subscribers will benefit from a more streamlined, easy-to-use interface with fresh designs to actionable icons that will make playing your favorite song or playlist as simple as the tap of a button.

Simplified Universal Shuffle Play Button

Spotify has baked in a new green “shuffle play” icon which lets you start streaming music with a single tap.

Action Rows

The most frequently used actions including play and download and lined up at the central part of the screen. The feature is available only for Premium users. The new row will come in handy for single-handed use. Furthermore, the updated Spotify app also offers a new icon for downloading and listening without using Wi-Fi.

Cover Art

Cover Art makes music look good and Spotify’s updated app will show cover art everywhere. ‘Album view’ is the only place where cover art will not be shown. In other words, the feature should help you navigate the app in a much better way. That apart, your favorite songs will have a heart icon shown next to them.

The new design updates are rolling out for iOS Spotify users today. Spotify is one of the most popular music streaming services. As far as paid users are concerned, Spotify has twice the number of subscribers as compared to that of Apple Music.
