On December 16, 2014, T-Mobile revealed its Un-carrier 8.0 initiative, which focused on allowing subscribers to roll over unused data to the next month.
Now, the Magenta Carrier has announced its Un-carrier 9.0 event, which focuses primarily on businesses this time around. The new “Un-carrier Plan for Businesses” offers new, simplified pricing schemes for a multitude of lines. That means $16 per line for accounts that feature 10-19 lines, $15 per line for accounts with 20 to 999 lines, and $10 per line for accounts that have 1,000 lines or more. Each of the aforementioned lines will get unlimited talk and text, and there will be 1GB of data per month available to them as well. A tablet can be added for $10 per line, with each tablet also getting 1GB of data per month.
The lines will have access to things like JUMP!, Data Stash and every other Un-carrier initiative.
New data allotments can be added either via per line, or through a bucket that each line accesses together. Per line pricing is $10 for 2GB, or $30 for unlimited data. Bucket pricing is $4.75 per gigabyte, $4.50 once the account passes 500GB, and $4.25 after passing 1TB.
The last bit of news comes in a new family discount, which T-Mobile is dubbing the Business Family Discount (BFD). Now, if a business uses T-Mobile and they decide to get a family account on the side, it will count the first line of the company account as the first line of the family account. T-Mobile says that can equal about a 50% savings.
For consumers, T-Mobile’s expanding the ability to switch to the Magenta Carrier by offering to not only pay the early termination fee of a switcher, but also the installment fee they may have. So, if you’re on AT&T and using AT&T Next, T-Mobile will pay up to $650 to pay off that installment fee to get you under their umbrella.
