On March 21, which is just one week away from today, Apple is hosting an event that will reportedly showcase a brand new 4-inch iPhone.
So, of course, the Rumor Mill is working overtime right now, trying to break any real anticipation for the main event in the days leading up to it. Case in point, a video, along with several photos, of what is being reported as the “iPhone SE” caught in the wild. The video comes from Nick Beeep, who says the iPhone was caught in the wild of Huaqiangbei, Shenzhen, China. It shows someone from Beeep walking up to a small store, and then being handed the iPhone SE without any hesitation.
The device in the video, and in the pictures, is apparently a brick, because it won’t turn on. And since the video, nor the report regarding the video, indicates its weight, it’s certainly possible that it’s a dummy unit without actual parts inside of it to even turn it on at all. It’s possible, if not plausible, that this particular unit is simply a mock-up of what the iPhone SE is rumored to look like.
And indeed, the iPhone SE has seen plenty of rumors regarding what it looks like, with suggestions it could be a smaller iPhone 6/6s, or simply look a lot like an iPhone 5s. There’s been a lot of back-and-forth on what Apple will use for the design of the smaller iPhone, and it’s not looking likely that this video will actually put a rest to the talk, either.
Honestly, the part of the video that we should all take seriously is at the end, where the on-screen presence tells us all to “just wait” for Apple to unveil the iPhone SE. Only one more week to go.
