The iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, in a little more than a month since going on sale, account for 5.5 percent of the total iPhones worldwide according to analytics firm Localytics.
Specifically, the iPhone 5s accounted for a 3.8 percent share, while the cheaper iPhone 5c accounted for a 1.7 percent share. This corroborates earlier reports of the iPhone 5s outselling the iPhone 5c by a factor of two. The iPhone 5, however, still remains the most common iPhone model all over the world, accounting for a 40 percent share, but its share would reduce as the new iPhones are rolled out to more countries.
According to Localytics, Japan, at 10 percent, has the highest concentration of the newest iPhones (iPhone 5s and iPhone 5s), followed by the US with a 6.5 percent share. Germany meanwhile has the highest ratio of iPhone 5s to iPhone 5c devices, at 9:1 followed by China, Australia and Japan.
For this study, Localytics gathered its data from a sample size of over 40 million iPhones from the September 20th launch of the new iPhones till October 25th.
