Bummed about all the scratches on your new stainless steel Apple Watch? Well, here is some good news for you.
The scratches are not on the stainless steel body itself, but on the mirror finish polish done by Apple, which is actually very easy to remove. All you need is a micro abrasive metal polisher like Mag & Aluminium polish, a dry towel, and a few minutes in your hand.
Simply dip the towel into the metal polisher and then rub it on the steel casing of your Apple Watch that is filled with scratches. Rub the towel hard against the casing a few times, and make sure to prevent the compound from going into any of the ports or coming in contact with the bands. After a few rubs, remove the towel and you will notice that it has become black. This means that you have removed a very thin layer of the stainless steel from the Watch.
Now, use the clean end of the towel to wipe the casing of the Apple Watch, and you will notice that any scratches present on it have vanished now.
Keep in mind that the above steps will only work on the Apple Watch as it comes with a stainless steel body, and not on the Apple Watch Sport that comes with an anodised aluminium body.
In case you are not comfortable with doing the above steps yourself, you can always take the smartwatch to any watch shop near your house and they will do the whole procedure for you for $10-$20.
It is recommended that you use the above steps to remove scratches from your Apple Watch every once in a while only. Doing so on a regular basis will wear down the stainless steel casing quickly.
