Apple Watch Sport Unboxing

After months of rumors and speculations, I finally managed to get my hands on the Apple Watch.

Unlike other products, the wait for the Apple Watch has been excruciatingly long (eight months to be exact) since its introduction in September 2014, along with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. I got the 38mm Apple Watch Sport with white sports band, and its unboxing was quite a unique experience. It comes in Apple’s trademark white box, but in the case of the Apple Watch Sport model, the box is a long rectangular one. Based on the unboxing photos of the Apple Watch model with stainless steel case, it looks like it comes in a much bigger square box.

The level of detail that has gone into the packaging is simply incredible. The box includes another plastic box which contains the Apple Watch, a charging dock, a USB adapter which comes with foldable pins, a brief user guide which explains the major features of Apple Watch on one side, and how to use the device on the other side. Unlike other Apple products, the Apple Watch packaging does not include the traditional Apple stickers.

It also comes with an additional M/L strap. The S/M strap that comes with the Apple Watch out of the box was quite small for me, so I had to change the bands. The process to change the bands is extremely simple. All you need to do is press on the band release button at the back of the Apple Watch, and slide the band out, and then slide the new band in.

I wasn’t sure if the ceramic cover with the sapphire lenses that protects the heart rate sensor will make it a little awkward, but that wasn’t the case. The Apple Watch with the sport band feels extremely comfortable.

I will update the post with more first impressions shortly. Please feel free to let me know if you’ve have any questions.
