Similar to the iPhone and iPad, Apple labels your Apple Watch with a generic name that pairs your name with the Apple Watch. For example, my Watch appears as “Kelly’s Apple Watch”. You can easily change this name to something unique and and more creative using the instructions below.
To change your Watch’s default name, you’ll need to access the Watch app and make the following changes:
- Launch the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
- Tap on My Watch to access the Watch-specific settings
- Tap on General, then About and then Name
- Delete the current name and type in the new name you want to use.
- Tap Done on the keyboard when finished.
While I usually name my devices with my initials and the device model (KH iPhone 6 Plus, e.g.), you can get as creative as you want with this name.
