In an interview with the Australian Financial Review, Apple’s co-founder Steve Wozniak said that he will be buying the entry-level Apple Watch Sport.
He further says that the only difference between the $10,000 and the $17,000 Apple Watch Edition is the band, which does not make sense for an engineer like him.
Woz says in the interview that until and unless he starts using the Apple Watch on a daily basis, “as a permanent part” of his life, that he will consider buying the Apple Watch Edition. He had previously tried different smartwatches, including Samsung’s Galaxy Gear, but stopped using them after their novelty worn off.
The Apple co-founder, who currently owns a Tesla Model S P85D and called it one of the finest pieces of technology he has ever owned, hopes that rumors about Apple entering the car market are true. He thinks that cars are a “perfect territory” for Apple, especially if it wants to grow dramatically.
“I don’t know if Apple’s doing that, or if they’re just working on their CarPlay apps for the dashboard of your car, but it seems like they might be hiring a lot of people who could really build a vehicle,” Mr Wozniak said.
In the interview, Woz also talks about how he thinks computers can take over humans, though with Moore’s law becoming ineffective in 2020, the chances of that happening are pretty much nil for now.
