Now that Apple has finally provided an official launch date for the iPad Pro, Adobe couldn’t wait to post a video showcasing creative professionals getting their hands (and the Apple Pencil) on the new tablet.
The iPad Pro, with its 12.9-inch display, the Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard all go on sale beginning Wednesday, November 11, with in-store availability rolling out Friday, November 13. Leading up to that, though, Adobe has put together a quick hands-on impressions video of the new tablet and its creative side, thanks to a series of creative professionals that got to spend some time with the new tablet and talk about their thoughts afterwards.
All-in-all, it sounds like the iPad Pro is going to be a huge boost for creative individuals, whether that’s in terms of marketing or illustrators and designers. With the tools available for the larger iPad, of which Adobe’s own creative cloud products were showcased in the video, these creative types were able to speed up their workflow, create new dynamic pieces, and were all generally wowed by the Apple Pencil, too.
Interestingly enough, and something that stood out to this editor, was the lack of putting the palm on the iPad Pro’s display while using the Apple Pencil. Watching through the video a couple of times, every artist keeps their palms away from the iPad’s display while using the stylus. This stands out because back in September, when the Pixar team was able to spend some time with the iPad Pro, they specifically noted the palm rejection is “perfect.”

Graphic Designer and Illustrator Jeremy Slagle seems to come the closest when it comes to putting his palm next to the iPad Pro while using the Pencil, but even then it doesn’t look like the palm is actually touching the display.
In any event, the iPad Pro will be available to use as a creative canvas later this week. Do you plan on picking one up?
