Apple had a lot to announce today during its September keynote, and unfortunately that meant some other key pieces of information couldn’t make the cut.

That includes some important alterations to the AppleCare+ model. Specifically, one of the key changes relates to one of the more useful repairs: Fixing the screen. According to Apple the new fee will cost $29 to replace a screen. That means they don’t have to pay the $99 to get a new display.

However, there is another change set in place now as well. Moving forward the flat fee for AppleCare+ is $99 for all iOS devices, save for the $29 screen replacement fee. That change will probably be a welcomed one.

“Every iPhone comes with one year of hardware repair coverage through its limited warranty and up to 90 days of complimentary support. AppleCare+ for iPhone extends your coverage to two years from the original purchase date of your iPhone and adds up to two incidents of accidental damage coverage, each subject to a service fee of $29 for screen damage, or $99 for any other damage, plus applicable tax.2 In addition, you’ll get 24/7 priority access to Apple experts via chat or phone through getsupport.apple.com.”
