For quite some time, Apple partnered with a company called PowerOn to handle online trades for Mac products.
That has changed, though. As MacRumors reports, Apple has switched to a partnership with a company called Phobio to handle Mac trade-ins. The transition begins today, so if you check out Apple’s Renew and Recycling program you’ll be redirected to Phobio’s website if you choose to trade-in that Mac hardware. You’ll need to input your device’s serial number, and then immediately answer a few questions about the product, before you’ll get a monetary result.
You’ll be able to choose between an Apple Store gift card, PayPal, or a virtual Visa Reward as a means to get your money.
Have you ever used the online trade-in program?
