A day before Apple’s yearly iPhone event, the company is blocking off the windows with black curtains. Needless to say, this is to make changes to the front facade of Apple Stores.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is “bringing back the old-school 3D front windows at some stores.” The change is only for selected stores. MacRumors has confirmed that Apple is putting up black curtains and asking employees to clean the floor and set up fixtures that have not been used in the recent past. The equipment will include wires and front displays.
Reason: It’s because they’re bringing back the old-school 3D front windows at some stores. Here are some old examples. I liked these. https://t.co/IQBbFF0tCn pic.twitter.com/LxhBlTUo65

In the mid-2000s Apple projected itself as a fun-loving company. The company decorated its windows with cutouts and other design elements that advertised the latest Apple devices. However, the company stopped installing window displays after it updated Store designs. In the past, Apple used to change window display every time a new device was launched. It is still unclear whether window display will be like before or Apple will add new elements to the design. Meanwhile, you can check out the super innovative window display at an Apple Store in 2015.
Our Take
Apple’s Store prescribes to a minimalistic look. The company is positioning itself as a premium brand and this reflects in the recent Apple Store redesigns. However, there are some Apple fans who wouldn’t mind a dash of color and life to Apple products. Perhaps this is the reason why Apple is experimenting with new colors for the upcoming iPhones. Rumour mills have been predicting a dark green color for the 2019 iPhones.
We do miss the colorful iPhone 5c and wish Apple offered lively colors on the upcoming iPhones.
