At the opening keynote of WWDC 2021, Apple unveiled iOS 15 and iPadOS 15. The next major release of iOS and iPadOS comes with several new features and changes. If you are wondering when iOS 15 is coming out for your iPhone, read below.
Apple only announces major releases of iOS and iPadOS at its yearly developer conference. It has never revealed the release date of the operating systems at its developer conference, except for giving a vague fall release timeframe.
Like every previous major iOS and iPadOS release, iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 should also be released to the public in September. Apple managed to stick to the timeline last year with the release of iOS 14 despite the pandemic. This year, the restrictions in the US have been considerably relaxed, so there’s little reason for the company to delay the iOS 15 release any further.
Going by Apple’s official announcement, iOS 15 will be available “this fall.”
iOS 15 packs several new features, including redesigned notifications, improved FaceTime experience, Live Text, Share with You integration in the Messages app, redesigned Safari, and more.
Whenever iOS 15 comes out in September this year, your iPhone will get the update on day one itself as long as it is compatible with it. Impressively, Apple has not dropped support for any of the older iPhones with iOS 15. The latest release of the OS continues to be supported by the same set of iPhones.
