Along with Apple Music, the another subscription service, this time tuned more towards TV, has been a hot topic emerging from the Rumor Mill at a pretty frequent rate.

However, for those that are looking forward to this particular service, a new report from Re/code states that expectations shouldn’t be that Apple will unveil the service at this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference, which is set to take place next week. The report states that Apple’s planned unveiling of the service has been postponed, due to necessary deals with networks not being in place just yet:

“The Cupertino technology company has told network executives the planned unveiling will be postponed because Apple has yet to finalize the licensing deals. Industry executives predict Apple’s Web TV offering may not launch until later this year, or in 2016. Technology and money issues remain sticking points.“

Apple apparently intended on launching this new service this fall, right in time with the new TV season to kick off, but whether that will still happen remains to be seen. At this point, the only thing that seems confirmed, without any official acknowledgement from Apple, is that the Cupertino-based company won’t be unveiling the service at WWDC.

That lines up with a previous report in May, which suggested Apple may unveil a brand new Apple TV set-top box, along with a new “TVKit” SDK, but that the subscription service might be launched later this year.
