We’ve seen plenty of keyboards being released following Apple’s move to open up the keyboard with iOS 8.

Swype, SwiftKey and other similar keyboards make typing easier by letting you swipe over the keys, rather than tapping on each key. One disadvantage of these gesture based keyboards is that they require you use just one hand. Nintype is a new gesture based keyboards that addresses this disadvantage, and lets you swipe with both hands.

Nintype’s two-handed swipe gestures can let you type up to 130 words per minute, as demoed in this video:

Like other keyboards, it has a word suggestion bar at the top, which suggests words as you type. You can swipe right or left on the keyboard to move the cursor around, set quick shortcuts for entering frequently used words, see your speed with the WPM counter and more. It even reduces in height, so that you can reclaim your precious screen real estate.

The keyboard is quite difficult to get used to, so it presents you with a detailed tutorial when you open it first, with directions to use it. The supported languages are: Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish, Swedish.

You can purchase Nintype for $4.99 from the App Store.
