It still needs a lot of work, but Apple’s new Campus 2 is coming along nicely. In the latest drone video below, we get a sneak peek at the progress being made on the Cupertino company’s new HQ, which boasts its own auditorium, fitness center, and more.
Apple started work on its new headquarters in late 2013, and it is planning to move in late this year — providing all goes to plan. The campus, which is built over 2.8 million square feet, will accommodate 12,000 staff and feature a research and development center, a corporate fitness center, parking, and more.
The building, which sits on land formerly occupied by Hewlett-Packard, will also be surrounded by curved glass panels. The land itself is estimated to have cost $160 million, while the entire project is likely to cost Apple upwards of half a billion.
In the awesome drone video below, we see a lot of these things, such as the fitness center and an auditorium that will seat 1,000 people, are now coming together. There’s clearly a lot of work left to be done, but big progress is being made.
Apple still hasn’t decided what it will officially name Campus 2. Some reports have suggested it will be named after Steve Jobs.
