Apple October 2019 Event Expectations

With the iPhone 11 launch behind us, many might think that Apple is done for the year and won’t have any new product launches for 2019. However, that’s not the case. The company still has a number of products to announce including the 16-inch MacBook Pro, new iPad Pros, and more.

Apple has been holding a media event in October where it focuses on its Mac and iPad lineup. Last year, it announced the iPad Pro at a media event in October. This year is going to be no different, though this time around, the focus is going to be on more than just iPads.

Below is everything that Apple could announce at its media event in October.

Apple has already refreshed its entire MacBook and MacBook Pro lineup this year. The company now ships the 15-inch MacBook Pro with an 8-core Core i9 processor making it ideal for power users who are always on the go. However, it is also working on a new MacBook Pro with a 16-inch display.

This MacBook Pro will exist alongside the 15-inch MacBook Pro for now. And while it will come with a bigger and higher resolution 16-inch display, its chassis size will be the same as the 15-inch model. Apple will reduce the bezels to increase the display size.

The 16-inch MacBook Pro will also mark the return of Apple’s scissor-type keyboard mechanism and ditch its controversial and unreliable Butterfly keyboard mechanism. The device is also expected to come with faster Intel Core processors, newer 7nm AMD GPUs, and more. Apple will likely offer the model with up to 64GB RAM as this laptop is meant for high-end users who have a very demanding workload. Rumors peg the starting price of the 16-inch MacBook Pro at $3,000.

Here’s a look at what we can realistically expect from the 16-inch MacBook Pro.

iMac and iMac Pro Refresh

Apple could also announce a refresh of the iMac and iMac Pro this month. Both the iMacs are now dated in terms of their internals and due for an upgrade. Apple could refresh the lineup with Intel’s latest CPUs for better performance along with more RAM and storage.

New iPad Pro

Apple will also refresh its iPad Pro lineup this month. Since the iPad Pro lineup received a major update last year itself, this year’s refresh is going to be more modest in nature. Apart from faster internals, leaks point to the 2019 iPad Pro featuring the same triple-camera setup as the iPhone 11 Pro series.

Updated Apple TV

Apple TV+ is slated to launch on November 1st. Before that though, it would make perfect sense for Apple to go ahead and announce a new Apple TV with faster internals. There are rumors of the company working on an Apple TV with an A12 chip as well.

Mac Pro

Apple has already unveiled the Mac Pro at WWDC 2019 but it did not talk much about its pricing and detailed specs. At its October event, the company will likely talk more about Mac Pro and reveal other key details about it.

Alongside the Mac Pro, Apple had also shown its new Pro Display XDR. The company will announce the release date of the product at the event.

Apple Tags?

Apple Tag - Tile-like Tracker

It is no secret that Apple is working on a Tile-like tracker. It was expected that the company will announce them at its iPhone event last month but that did not happen.

The iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro come with Apple’s new Ultrawide Band chip which it did not talk about much when it announced them. However, Apple Tags will give the company the perfect reason to talk about them and highlight the benefits of Spatial awareness.

New AirPods?

The latest iOS 13.2 beta release from Apple references new AirPods with active noise cancellation and listening modes. Apple has been rumored to work on updated AirPods with ANC for quite a few months now. Reputed analyst Kuo has claimed that Apple is working on new AirPods, though he believes that the company will launch them early next year.

When Will Apple Hold Its October Media Event?

Last year, Apple held its iPad Pro event on October 30th. This year, the company is scheduled to announce its quarterly earnings on the same day. Since Apple likes to hold its media event in October towards the very end of the month, it is possible that we will see the company hold its event on October 28th or 29th.
