The Messages app in iOS 7 has been redesigned to go with the overall “flat” look of the OS, and although the design is largely a “reskin”, it does have some new features, many of which aren’t easily discoverable.
One of the neat features is the ability to view timestamps for each message.
To see the time each message was sent, follow these simple steps:
- Open the Messages app, and tap on a conversation. You’ll see that the timestamps here are for a collection of messages.
- Now if you pull the screen from the right to left, you’ll see see a timestamp against message. As you let go, the chat bubbles will go back to their original position, hiding the timestamps.
Here’s the video walkthrough of how to view the timestamp in Messages app:
While this feature isn’t easily discoverable, it’s quite well implemented, since it’s easy to access, and avoids crowding the entire Messages interface.
