iOS 8 finally brings a very easy way to disable notifications for an app.
Prior to iOS 8, you had to turn off various settings to completely disable notifications from an app.
While it was nice to have granular control, it used to end up becoming a cumbersome task if you wanted to disable notifications for many apps. But that has been addressed in iOS 8.
Follow these instructions to quickly disable Notifications for an app:
- Launch Settings app from the Home screen
- Tap on Notifications
- Tap on the app, for which you want to disable notifications.
- Tap on the On/Off toggle next to Allow Notifications to turn it off.
- That’s it. This will completely disable Notifications for the app.
You won’t get an alert, banner notification, sound, notification on the Lock screen or Notification Center for that app. It is as if the app has been put in “do not disturb” mode permanently.
