Apple has introduced a new way to quickly disable Touch ID on iPhones with iOS 11. With the latest public beta of the OS, you can quickly press the power button five times to disable Touch ID or call the emergency services.
When you press the power button on your iPhone running the latest iOS 11 public beta five times, you will be given an option to call the emergency services. You can set the feature to automatically call the emergency services, though it is disabled by default. Even if you don’t call the emergency service, the feature will disable Touch ID on your iPhone and force you to enter the passcode to enable it again.

This is a very useful feature to have if you want to disable Touch ID on your iPhone for some reason. Previously, the only way to disable Touch ID on an iPhone was to restart the device, let it idle for a few days, or place a finger that you had not registered with the Touch ID sensor.
This feature should also particularly come in useful once the iPhone 8 launches which is expected to come with face unlock feature.
Apple already offers an option to call emergency services on the iPhone by triple pressing the power button in places like India due to a government regulation. However, the feature ended up being mistakenly activated by many, which is likely why Apple is replacing it with five presses on iOS 11.
