Schedule an Appointment
If you live in a country where you can schedule an appointment at the Genius Bar or at an authorized Apple service center, this is what you should do. You could just show up at an Apple Store or an authorized service center but then you might end up waiting for hours at end.
It’s really easy to book an appointment only. From Apple’s Contact Support page, select iPhone -> Battery, Power, and Charging -> Battery Replacement. From here, select Bring in for Repair.
From this page, enter your location. You’ll find a list of Apple Stores or service centers where you can book an appointment to get your iPhone’s battery replacement.
Click on a store, choose a time and your appointment will be booked. Show up at the right time and get your battery replaced.
According to Apple’s website, the supplies of replacement batteries are currently limited for iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and iPhone 6s Plus. So if you have an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus then you may need to wait a little longer. We have also heard of cases where customers who have booked appointments have been turned back because of lack of replacement batteries, so we would recommend to wait for a few days before booking an appointment to get Apple’s battery replacement.
Apple’s website seems to be the only way to schedule an appointment, as you only have the option to talk to an Apple representative in Apple Support app, which has similar options.
By Mail
If you live far away from an Apple Store or you just don’t want to go, you can mail in your iPhone to get the replacement done. Call up Apple or chat with them online to start this process. You’ll have to pay for shipping charges and you’ll get the iPhone back in 5-9 days.
