Alongside the 2nd gen AirPods, Apple has also started selling a Qi-compatible wireless charging case for the earbuds. Apple is not bundling the wireless charging case with the new AirPods and is instead selling it separately. It is offering a bundle of the second-gen AirPods and the wireless charging case at a discounted price though.
The new wireless charging case is also compatible with the 1st generation AirPods and Apple is selling them separately for $79. While rumors had pointed to the new wireless charging case coming with USB-C port, that’s not the case. Instead, the wireless charging case continues to feature a Lightning connector.
There’s an LED indicator on the front of the case that lets the user know if their AirPods is charging or not.
As per Apple, the new Wireless charging case can hold “multiple charges.” For the new AirPods, this means more than 24 hours of listening time thanks to its more efficient H1 chip.
