Apple has added announced a bunch of new features for AirPods at the ongoing WWDC. AirPods now get a “Conversation Boost” feature aimed at people with a mild hearing problem. The feature automatically zooms on voice and offers sliders to reduce ambient noise.
According to Apple, the “Conversation Boost” will help people who have difficulty hearing others while talking. The feature amplifies the voice of the person in front of you by filtering out the ambient noise.
Until now, AirPods could read and announce messages. Starting now, AirPods will be able to access and readout important notifications. This way, you can decide whether or not to wake your iPhone and deal with the notification.
AirPods is now better integrated with Find My. Starting now, you will get an alert in case you forgot your AirPods. The proximity works in the same way as the new AirTag. So next time you forget AirPod at the gym, cafe, or any other place, the Find My app will alert you immediately. The alert will be triggered after you move a certain distance away from AirPods. Meanwhile, the proximity sensor will indicate AirPods position.
AirPods supports the new spatial audio feature in FaceTime. It also supports spatial audio feature on Apple TVs and Macs.
