In iOS 7, one of the major improvements to iOS folders is the ability to add unlimited number of apps to a folder. Apple also tweaked the UI to display only 9 apps (3×3) instead of 16 apps (4×4) on one page in a folder.

If you preferred the 4×4 folder layout, then there is now a jailbreak tweak called 7Folder Relayout that lets you change the layout from 3×3 apps to 4×4 apps like iOS 6.

After installing the tweak, you can change the folder layout to 4×4 apps, by tapping on SpringBoard Settings in Control Center, and navigating to Folders, and tapping on the 4×4 Layout toggle to enable it.

In addition to this, the jailbreak tweak also allows you to make quite of few changes to the look and feel of iOS folders such as:

  • Blur or remove blur from folder background
  • Load one column of apps at a time
  • Ability to disable the wallpaper zoom animation
  • Ability to change the Blur background style from a number of options

7Folder Relayout is available for $0.99 on Cydia. It is developed by deVbug, the developer of HiddenSettings7, the jailbreak tweak that enables the hidden SpringBoard Settings. The tweak works fine on iPhone 5s.
