It was long rumored that a jailbreak for iOS 9.3.5 was in the works and today marks the day that we get to see it. A new jailbreak known as Phoenix has been released for 32-bit devices running on iOS 9.3.5.
It’s surprising, as well as a good news, to see that this jailbreak has been built specifically for legacy devices as these devices are usually left out when a new jailbreak is released. The jailbreak has been created by well-known iOS hackers, namely Siguza and tihmstar, with contribution from other members of the jailbreak community such as mbazaliy and qwertyoruiop, and realkjcmember.
Just like the Yalu jailbreak, you have to install the Phoenix jailbreak on your 32-bit device using Cydia impactor, then run the app to begin the jailbreak. It is a semi-untethered jailbreak which means that every time your device restarts, the jailbreak gets disabled. So you have to open the Phoenix jailbreak app on your device and run the jailbreak again to re-jailbreak your device.
Since you’re sideloading the Phoenix jailbreak, the app will expire after every seven days, so you have to reinstall the app using Cydia Impactor to re-sign it.

- iPhone 5
- iPhone 5c
- iPhone 4s
- iPod touch 5
- iPad 2
- iPad 3
- iPad 4
- iPad mini 1
