The iOS 12 rollout seems to be a particularly smooth one from Apple, with users not reporting any issues whatsoever during the upgrade process. However, iPhone or iPad owners trying to update their device using iTunes are complaining about the update not showing up on their PC.
This is likely due to Apple’s servers getting overloaded with millions of iPhones and iPad all over the world users trying to update their device all at the same time. If the iOS 12 update is not showing up in iTunes on your PC, you can go simply install the iOS 12 update on your device using the OTA method. The latter is working without any issues for people, with the whole download and installation procedure taking around 10-15 minutes.
Before you go ahead with the OTA update process though, make sure to backup your iPhone or iPad running iOS 11. You can always backup your device to iCloud or simply use iTunes for the process as its much faster.
If you’re interested in jailbreaking then it is recommended to use the iTunes method. You can check our post on how to install iOS 12 on your iPhone or iPad manually using iTunes by downloading the iOS 12 firmware file for your device.
