With iOS 7, Apple made huge changes to the way iOS looks and, in some cases, even how it functions. Given the large amount of code changes, bugs and UI glitches inevitably crept into the release.
Below, we list some of the most common iOS 7 bugs, and how you can fix them.
iMessage bugs
Apple has acknowledged that iOS 7 is causing issues for a “fraction of a percent” of iMessage users, and promises a fix in the next update. But you can fix the issue right away: Simply go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings and reboot your device.
Lock screen security vulnerabilities
Lock screen has historically been a weak point for Apple from a security perspective, and iOS 7 was no different. Despite the iOS 7.0.2 update, there still remains a lock screen security flaw that can let an unauthorised person bypass the passcode and gain access to the Phone app. The solution: Disable Siri from your lock screen by going to Settings > General > Passcode Lock > Scroll to the Allow Access When Locked section and disable the Siri switch.
Apps logging you out repeatedly
A bug in iOS 7 randomly logs out users of an app, requiring them to enter their login credentials repeatedly. Apps affected by this glitch include Mailbox, Snapchat and PayPal. The issue was introduced due to iOS 7’s new Background App Refresh feature and to fix it, you’ll have to go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh and disable the feature for the apps that are having problems.
Audio apps crash when you get a call
If you use iOS apps to create music or do other audio related tasks, then iOS 7 might crash when you receive a call while using the app. This is quite a serious issue since it’s possible to lose data when the app crashes. There’s no real solution for this apart from developers updating their apps, but when you’re doing any audio related task, you can switch to Airplane mode. Miscalibrated motion sensors
The motion sensors included in the iPhone 5s are significantly miscalibrated, and report erroneous motion related data to apps. It’s still not clear if this is a hardware issue or can be solved by a software update. So you may want to wait it out for Apple to release a software update to see if it fixes it. If it doesn’t fix the issue, and it is a hardware problem with their unit they could get a replacement.

iOS 7 has a lot of other bugs too, including some annoying UI glitches that you can’t really do much about apart from wait for Apple to issue an update.
