Mockups of the rumored iPhone 6 (both physical and digital) have been featured in huge amounts here at iPhoneHacks over the last few months (that’s just a few of them), and they seem to just keep coming. Now, we’re getting a look at an aluminum mold being used by case manufacturers to design cases for the next iPhone.

Manufacturers are commonly ready with cases available on the shelves the day a device is released or, if not, within a week of a flagship device being launched. The above pictured mold, via MobileDirect.ro, is one piece of hardware those case manufacturers are using to prepare.

The mold isn’t exactly intended to perfectly represent the phone, but rather to represent the device’s general shape. As you can see, there are holes in the bottom and side where there will likely be holes on the iPhone 6, and there’s a piece of aluminum that sticks out where the protruding camera will be placed. Notably, the mold has many extraneous holes and depressions to make it attachable to various parts of machinery used to make the cases.

The iPhone 6 is expected to launch this Fall, and come initially with a display size of 4.7 inches. A second model, however, is supposedly going to launch sometime later in the year with a 5.5-inch display. Both are said to feature a faster A8 processor, an improved camera, and other improvements.
