If you’re fan of BioLockdown, BioProtect, or AppLocker, then you’re going to love Asphaleia. And not only is this a great tweak to add a new level of security to your device, but if you’ve purchased one of the previously mentioned tweaks, then you can purchase Asphaleia at a discount.

For those of you that have purchased BioLockdown, BioProtect, or AppLocker, you’re in for a treat. Asphaleia will only cost you $0.99 rather than the original $1.99 for other users. They believe that even if you’re happy with your current security tweak, that you’re going really going to love Asphaleia. There are a ton of different options for Asphaleia, but the main features are locking down your apps, wiggle mode, slide to power off, app switcher, control center, and spotlight. But, there are a lot of ways to do just that. When you first download and install Asphaleia, when you open the settings, you’ll be prompted to create a passcode for your settings. So set you’re passcode and you’re ready to start configuring your newly installed app.

Asphaleia1 Just tap on “Secured Apps” to start enabling which apps require your authorization before opening. Select as many or as little as you want. When you try to open an app, you’ll be prompted to scan your finger if you’re on an iPhone 5s, or enter a passcode on any other device.

Once you’ve selected your apps, you’ll notice at the top of the screen you have an option called “Dynamic Selection”. This option, if toggled on, will allow you to enable or disable a specific app from being locked down while you’re in the app. If you have a iPhone 5s, then just open the app you want to put on/take off the secured app list, and scan your finger. You’ll be prompted with a screen to either add or remove to your app list.

If you tap on the “Advanced Security” then you can also lock down App Arranging, Slide to Power Off, Multitasking, Control Center, and Spotlight if you’d like. So when you try to activate one of these features, you’ll either have to scan your finger or enter your passcode in order to access it.

Going back to the main settings panel, if you tap on “Passcode Options” then you have the ability to change the passcode, enable/disable a simple passcode and TouchID. If you want to change the amount of time it takes to require authorization, then you can do so by tapping on “Require Authorization” and choosing a set amount of time. For example, if you choose “10 seconds” then when you open a locked down app, you’ll then have 10 seconds to open any app or feature and you won’t have to scan or type in your passcode. If you toggle this on, you’ll get a new setting that will allow you to toggle on/off “Reset on Lock”, which if enabled, locks the apps when you lock your device. Even if you have a 30 minute authorization requirement, if you lock and unlock your device and try to unlock an app, you’ll have to scan your finger or enter your passcode to access it.

If you tap on “Advanced Options” in the “Passcode Options” settings panel, You’ll be given the option to obscure the app content in the app switcher, which blurs out the thumbnails. You also have a “Unlock to App unsecured” toggle which, if enabled, will allow you to unlock your device and if you have a locked down app already open, it won’t prompt you to unlock it again.

You can also delay Asphaleia for a set amount of time after unlocking the device before the app security is enabled. If you want to even go a step further, you can set specific fingers to apps and/or features rather than being able to use them all.

And last but not least, we have the Asphaleia Control Panel. This can also be accessed by using TouchID or setting an activator gesture. Once you’re on the springboard, just scan your finger (or use an activator gesture) to activate the control panel. From here, you can easily disable/enable your locked app list or “Enable Global App Security” which will lock down all apps, no matter what is on your secured app list.
