Ever since Apple released iOS 7.1.1 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, one of the most frequently asked questions has been “Can I jailbreak iOS 7.1.1?”
Answer
Unfortunately, as many of you may already know, the answer to that question is “No.”
evasi0n7 jailbreak that allows users to jailbreak iOS 7 – iOS 7.0.6 does not work with iOS 7.1.1 or iOS 7.1, as Apple patched a number of vulnerabilities used by the jailbreak in iOS 7.1.
The chances of a iOS 7.1 jailbreak also don’t look bright. Though hackers have demonstrated a jailbreak for iOS 7.1 on iPhone 4S and iPhone 4, it seems unlikely that they will release a jailbreak anytime soon. evad3rs, hackers behind the evasi0n7 jailbreak have said that they don’t plan to work on a jailbreak for iOS 7.1. pod2g has said that he has some ideas on how to make a jailbreak for iOS 7.1, but he’d work on them only if he has enough time. He had said this back in March, and hasn’t provided any hint since then that he is working on a jailbreak. It looks like they’re preserving some of exploits for iOS 8, though one can debate whether that is prudent as Apple could patch them as well.
If you’ve a device which is still running iOS 7 – iOS 7.0.6, then you can check out this webpage for the links to the latest jailbreak guides.
