Nested Folder iOS 8

Apple released its highly-anticipated iOS 8 software update for compatible iPhone, iPad and iPod touch models last week, and early upgraders will be happy to hear that creating nested folders remains possible on the latest version of the mobile operating system. Follow these step-by-step instructions to create nested folders on iOS 8.

Before we proceed, it should be noted that a nested folder is simply a folder within a folder. Apple does not allow this functionality on iOS by default, but it is possible to nest folders with this simple glitch, trick or whatever you want to call it. Best of all, your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch does not need to jailbroken.

While we have personally tested these step-by-step instructions on an iPhone 6, they should work on most iOS 8 compatible devices such as the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s and fifth-generation iPod touch. If you are able to create a nested folder on another device, let us know in the comments section down below.

Step 1: Drag any app on the Home screen on top of another app to create a folder.

Step 2: Quickly drag in an existing folder into the new folder being created as a result of step one.

Step 3: If you are not timely enough, keep trying and you should achieve a nested folder.

Check out this video by macmixing to get a better idea how to do it:

To reverse the process, simply drag the folder within a folder to the Home screen.
