The @pwn20wnd team has all but completed their side of the work to jailbreak iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2 on A12-A12X Bionic devices like the iPhone XS, iPhone XR, and the 2018 iPad Pro. However, they have not yet released the jailbreak to the public as Saurik is still working on updating Cydia Substrate with A12(X) Bionic support.
Without Cydia Substrate support, a jailbreak for A12-A12X Bionic devices is not going to be useful. The delay in a Cydia Substrate release from @saurik has led to him being bombarded with messages on Twitter as well as other online forums as to when the jailbreak would be released.
It is evident from the Twitter thread from @saurik that he is pretty frustrated with how the jailbreak community has been harassing him over an A12 Bionix jailbreak ETA. He even goes on to say that he wished he never wasted his life on Cydia.
It really sucks that I can't give a talk at a hackathon without the organizers getting harassed, or be on a panel for an unrelated topic (as I was today) without the moderator getting dogpiled with "jailbreak ETA?", or even comment on a forum without the thread being hijacked :(.

I did not promise to anyone–including Sam Bingner, the only person I've been talking to at all–that I would be able to finish A12 Substrate ASAP; in fact, what I told Sam Bingner was that I was really busy due to a product launch for my day job, and he said he wouldn't rush me.

Saurik seems to be frustrated with the toxicity among developers in the jailbreaking community. He goes into detail explaining how none of the jailbreak stuff is important to him and he does not enjoy doing it anymore.
If you have ever jailbroken your iPhone or iPad and/or are still interested in jailbreaking your iPhone XS running iOS 12, you should definitely go through the entire thread from @saurik. Given how important a role Saurik has played in the jailbreaking community and how important Cydia Substrate still is, there’s no doubt in my mind that he deserves a lot more respect from the community.
Remember that Saurik is doing all this for free and that he has a day job and a family to look after as well. He’s under no obligation to work on Cydia Substrate for A12X devices during his free time. People from the jailbreaking community should respect that and give Saurik the space he deserves.
