One of the major issues with the Pangu jailbreak for iOS 8 – iOS 8.1, is that it is advisable to use it without a passcode or Touch ID as it results in bootloop issues. The bootloop issue can be resolved by using the volume up trick, but it some cases has forced users to restore their device.
Updated: Cydia Installer 1.1.14 is out! Check the update below for more details:
We’ve received several emails and comments asking us about the workaround for the passcode fix that has been doing the rounds.
We would recommend readers to wait for saurik to release the official update for Cydia, which will fix the passcode issue rather than using the workaround. Saurik has said that he is working on releasing an update for Cydia to fix the passcode issue:
The passcode bug I had a pretty solid fix for days ago (although I didn’t know that until after the Substrate issues were all cleared away, allowing me to see what was going on clearly), but the rest of Cydia has been splayed out on my table this whole time as I try to make it all work correctly on iOS 8.
So while I understand that using your device without a passcode or Touch ID is not ideal, please be patient, and wait for the official update for Cydia. Pangu Team have said from the onset that the Pangu 8-8.1.x jailbreak is primarily for developers so they can update their tweaks and apps for iOS 8 – iOS 8.1.
Pangu Team is also working with saurik to include Cydia in the Pangu jailbreak so it is pre-installed when users jailbreak your device on iOS 8 – iOS 8.1.
