Last month, we showed you how to hide stock apps in iOS 7.1 without jailbreaking.
There is an even easier way to hide stock apps in iOS 7.1.
Here’s how it works:
- You first need to ensure that the home screen page including the dock has the maximum number of apps.
- Then tap and hold on any app icon and put it in wiggle mode.
- Drag and drop the app you want to hide on any other app on the page full of apps to create a folder. However, don’t release your finger yet.
- Drag and move the app icon you want to hide from this newly created folder to the dock, and release your finger.
And just like that the app will disappear from the Home screen. Check out the video below to get a better idea how it works:
Like previous methods, the downside of this method is that the apps will return on the Home screen when you reboot the device. You will also be able to search for the app in Spotlight.
I can able to successfully hide apps on an iPhone running iOS 7.1 using this method. I am assuming it will work on the iPad running iOS 7.1 as well like the previous method. It does not work on iOS 7.0.6.
It amazes me how people find these bugs. So kudos to videosdebarraquito for finding it. It’s quite likely that Apple will fix the bug in next iOS software update.
Let me know how it goes in the comments below.
Thanks iJuggl3r for the tip!
