Last month, Apple released iOS 7.0.6 that fixed a critical security flaw related to SSL connection verification. However, a lot of people have complained about unusually high battery drain and a warm device after upgrading to iOS 7.0.6.
The bug that iOS 7.0.6 fixed was just a one line error in Apple’s Security Library, so it’s mysterious as to what is actually causing the drain, since there didn’t seem to be any other change in the update. But you can fix it in a few simple steps:
- Kill all the apps running in background on your iOS device by double tapping on the Home Button and swiping up every app card. You can close up to 3 apps at once by using multiple fingers.
- Hard reset your device by holding both the Home Button and Power Button until you see the Apple logo.
Completing these two steps should hopefully fix the battery drain issue, but if it doesn’t you can follow these tips to improve your iPhone or iPad’s battery life.
Let us know if you were facing a similar battery problems, and if these steps helped you fix the issue.
