Just recently, I discovered a weird issue with my iPhone which I never expected to happen. After taking a couple of pictures, I realized that none of the pictures were getting saved to the Camera Roll. Even worse was the fact that I couldn’t send images via iMessage or third-party social messaging apps.
After searching the internet, I realized that I’m not the only one facing this issue. It seems to be a common problem among some users, even those residing on iOS 8. However, there’s a nifty solution that fixes this problem without requiring your iPhone to be restored.
In this tutorial, we are going to show you how to fix an issue with iPhone or iPad not saving pictures to the Camera Roll.
Fix Photos Not Saving to Camera Roll on iPhone or iPad
Step 1: Restart your iPhone or iPad.
Step 2: Open the Camera app from your Home screen.
Step 3: Switch to Photo mode and take a picture.
Step 4: Tap on the thumbnail in the bottom left corner to view the photo which you just captured.
Step 5: Tap on the share button at the bottom and send the image to one of your contacts via iMessage.
Step 6: Restart your iPhone again.
After your iPhone restarts, the issue will be fixed and all your new photos should be saved to the Camera Roll. If you are lucky, you will also find the images that were not saved previously.
It’s strange as to why this problem appeared all of a sudden even though I did not perform any firmware updates recently. This bug has been present in iOS for a few years and it’s surprising that Apple hasn’t fixed it yet.
