Pangu iOS 9.2 - iOS 9.3.3 Jailbreak

Pangu team caught us by surprise yesterday by releasing a semi-tethered jailbreak for iOS 9.2 – iOS 9.3.3. With the Chinese version of the jailbreak tool already available for download, many users have been reporting issues with it and haven’t been able to successfully jailbreak their iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

The team behind Pangu have already acknowledged some of the known issues and are working overnight to fix them and release an update as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, you can try the workarounds and fixes for some of the issues listed below and see if it helps to successfully jailbreak your iOS device.

iPod Touch 6G & iPad Pro reboot but Cydia not installed

Many users who own an iPad Pro or iPod Touch 6G are reporting that their device reboots without Cydia installed after clicking on the circle button in the PP Jailbreak app and locking. Apparently, Pangu jailbreak doesn’t work properly with these devices yet and you’ll have to wait for the team to release a fix.

Pangu Jailbreak app fails to install on your device

After the release of Pangu’s latest jailbreak tool, Apple made a couple of fixes in their backend. These fixes and the large amount of traffic on PP’s servers are preventing users to successfully install the Pangu Jailbreak app onto their device.

Although Pangu team acknowledged that they are working on this issue, a possible workaround is to use the PPHelper app to install the jailbreak directly on your device without using a computer. Read our step-by-step guide here:

Apple ID error during Jailbreak App installation

To install the jailbreak app onto your device, you’ll need to provide your Apple ID so that a developer profile is created for sideloading the app on your device. If you see an error like below when entering your Apple ID and password correctly then the solution is to disable two-factor authentication for your account. Go to Settings -> iCloud and tap on your Apple ID. Choose Password & Security and turn off Two-Factor Authentication.

Location Services not working after Jailbreak

I’ve seen many users facing problems with Location Services not working after jailbreaking their iOS device. One solution is to go to Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset All Settings. If that doesn’t work, one of our readers suggested installing LibLocation from Cydia to fix the GPS issue that some are facing.

Cydia not opening after re-jailbreak

Pangu’s new jailbreak tool is semi-tethered which means that have to use the PP Jailbreak app on your device every time it reboots. If Cydia is crashing or not opening after a re-jailbreak, you’ll have to restore your device afresh and jailbreak again.

PP program not launching on PC

If you can’t open PP on your PC, the best solution is to re-download it again. Sometimes, the file doesn’t get downloaded properly when the server is under heavy traffic.

These are some of the known issues of Pangu jailbreak and the possible fixes. The team has acknowledged some of these problems and is working overnight to release an update to fix them.
