Yes, Apple Maps was pretty much the worst thing that Apple put out in the last decade. But, with each iOS version an update, Maps continues to improve. Now, in iOS 9 we can save favorite locations like work, home, or the girlfriend’s house for quicker routing and less typing.

How to set Home, Work and Favorites in Maps app in iOS 9

Apple Maps works in conjunction with Contacts on your device. So if you want to save a work location or home location you’ll be adding that information into the contact card for said person or location.

Step 1.

Open Maps and tap on the blue directional arrow next to the search bar.

Step 2.

In the following menu, tap on Home followed by Contacts to create a saved location. Since this is your device, Maps will take you to your Contact card to fill out your home address. The process is the same for Work addresses as well; just click on the Work icon instead.

Now, next time you tap on the Home icon, Maps will automatically route you to your saved address.

If you already have saved locations for work or home in your Contacts card, Maps will begin routing from your current location to the destination.
