Speed is an essential attribute that many consumers pay close attention to when shelling out hundreds of dollars for an electronic device. iOS 9 was said to speed up all compatible devices, but those speed increases are hardly noticeable. There is a simple way to speed up any device; and that means speeding up those iOS animations.

Animations are noticeable all throughout iOS 9 and all iOS versions before it. There are animations when opening an app, launching the app switching, sliding from the lock screen, and so on. These animations, while appealing to the eye, can take some time to complete. By increasing the speed of these animations you can easily speed up the overall function of your iPhone. In order to take advantage of this speed boost app you’ll need a jailbroken iOS 9 device and a few minutes of your time.

The tweak we are going to be using is called Speed Intensifier, by Phillip Wong AKA pw5a29. You can find it on Cydia by searching for, “Speed Intensifier”.

Speed Intensifier

You will need to respring your device to complete the installation. Upon, restart we are going to head into Settings and scroll down until you see Speed Intensifier in the jailbreak section. Tap on the title to open it.

Settings - Speed

Inside the menu you will want to make sure Speed Intensifier is enabled. Next, you’ll notice four tabs: Simple, Fusion, Advanced and App. Tap on “What should I choose” to get a brief explanation of each section.

Choose - Speed Intensifier

There have been some complaints of the app crashing when using Fusion and Advanced mode and failing to recognize Blacklisted apps. So for the smoothest use, I would suggest starting with Simple. Speed Intensifier has been around since iOS 6 and Wong will continue to make updates and bug fixes for his iOS 9 version which may resolve all these issues in the near future.

After you’ve chosen your mode, you’ll need to select a speed. The higher up you go, the faster the animations will be. Once satisfied, tap on Respring to enable your choices.

Respring - Speed Intensifier

NOTE: Unfortunately there is no way to test the animations speeds without respringing your device. So you will need to respring every time, in order to assess and adjust your speed choices.

After respringing your device, open a few apps and you will see how much faster it is. If is not fast enough, increase the speed in the Speed Intensifier menu.

Remember, there are other options like Blacklisting and altering Spring Animations.

Advanced Options - SI

But, until the app is fully compatible with iOS 9, I would stick with the steps I’ve shown you above. If you have problems with this tweak, check out NoSlowAnimations, it is also one of our favorite jailbreak tweaks, but doesn’t give you as many options as Speed Intensifier.
