Yesterday, pod2g confirmed that the first beta version of iOS 6.1.1 doesn’t fix the evasi0n jailbreak. However, he had advised jailbreakers from upgrading to iOS 6.1.1 as evasi0n doesn’t jailbreak it yet.
But Daniel aka Pix3lDemon, developer of the Carrier Editor tool that allowed us to change the carrier logo without jailbreaking, has revealed that it is possible to jailbreak (untethered) an iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch running iOS 6.1.1 even now with some hacking.
The trick is to use Redsn0w 0.9.15b3 to jailbreak (tethered) your device on iOS 6.1.1 and then install evasi0n 6.0-6.1 Untether from Cydia to convert the tethered jailbreak into an untethered jailbreak. However, since you’re on iOS 6.1.1, Cydia won’t allow you install the evasion jailbreak so you have to change the plist file to trick Cydia into thinking you’re on iOS 6.1.
Daniel has posted a video of his untethered jailbroken iPod touch 4G on iOS 6.1.1.

Let’s hope Apple doesn’t fix the evasi0n jailbreak when it is released to the public.
