I have been trying hard to bring you folks news on the latest iPhone Applications, Hacks, How-to JailBreak iPhone, How-to Unlock iPhone & other iPhone related News but the pace of activity has been so hectic that some did not make it here @ iPhone Hacks.

As the objective of this blog for regular readers is to make iPhone Hacks the primary source for everything on the iPhone by keeping you posted on the latest development regarding the best gadget ever created aka the iPhone, I thought it would be a good idea to publish a weekly roundup of all the news and events from the web which were not covered here at iPhone Hacks.

.Mac syncing coming to iPhone 2.0?

One of the biggest questions that I had following the iPhone SDK event was how we non-Enterprise users were going to get the cool new wireless syncing features promised to ActiveSync Exchange users. My first guess was that Apple was planning to fold something like that into .Mac, and now iPhone Alley has unearthed something to suggest this might be right.

iPhone 2.0 SDK: Java on the iPhone?

Shortly after Apple announced the iPhone SDK, Sun announced the
intention to bring its Java Micro Edition platform to the iPhone.
Questions remain about whether Sun will be able to deliver, if Apple
will allow it, and what purpose this would serve for iPhone users. Even
more interesting is where Java came from, and where it’s subsequently
going in the mobile arena.

iPhone to migrate to Intel x86 processors?

The Apple iPhone will be migrating from its current processor to
something based on Intel’s x86 architecture, information suggests.
Multiple unnamed sources, including some who were correct about the
switch of Macs to Intel technology, say that the iPhone will join
Apple’s computers within a year or two.

AT&T Offering Refurbished iPhones at Knockdown Prices

The chaps at BGR have received a leaked AT&T memo, which states the
company will be offering refurbished iPhones for the lowly price of
$199 (4GB) and $249 (8GB.) The refurbished iPhones will be made
available with new contracts only, and are bound to sell as quickly as

iPhone parental controls?

The iPhone Dev Team seems to have stumbled across a hidden feature in the next version of the iPhone firmware. The picture is reminiscent of the iPhone SDK "Organizer" that shows the currently connected iPhone. However, something that’s different from the screenshots that we posted is the "Console," "Crash Logs," and "Screenshot" tabs at the top of the window.

Austrian iPhone Launch

The Austrian iPhone launch is due to kick off on the 14th of March with an 8GB iPhone
selling for €399 and 16GB for €499. (Google monetary conversion tells
me this is "Like Way Expensive", aka starting at $615.)
