For the first time in years, you can now jailbreak the very latest version of iOS that’s available from Apple. Yes, this means you can jailbreak your iPhone or iPad running iOS 12.4. The latest Unc0ver 3.5.0 update adds support for jailbreaking iOS 12.4 for A7-A11 devices.
iOS 12.4 is the latest release of iOS 12 from Apple and it contains support for Apple Card along with the new AirPods besides coming with a bunch of bug fixes including one for the eavesdropping bug in the Walkie-Talkie app. What this means is that if your iPhone is running the very latest release of iOS 12, you can go ahead and jailbreak it using Unc0ver. This is something that has not been possible for a very long time now and should get a lot of users excited.
There’s one catch though — Unc0ver 3.5.0 only supports A7-A11 devices. This means you cannot jailbreak the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, or the 2018 iPad Pro even if they are running iOS 12.4. On the positive side, older iPhones like the iPhone 8, iPhone 7, iPhone SE, and the iPhone 6s are supported by the latest Unc0ver release.
- Add iOS 12.4 support to the Sock Puppet (A8-A11) and Sock Port (A7-A7X) exploits
Unc0ver jailbreak tool is now capable of jailbreaking iOS 11 – iOS 12.2 and iOS 12.4 on A7-A11 devices.
The funny thing is that Apple patched the Sock Puppet exploit in iOS 12.3 but again unpatched it with the iOS 12.4 release thereby paving the way for this jailbreak. It is likely that we will see Apple release iOS 12.4.1 later this week to patch this bug.
Will you be jailbreaking your iPhone now that it is possible to jailbreak the latest public release of iOS?
