There’s just so many hidden features in the new Messages app in iOS 10 that I almost can’t keep count. If you haven’t discovered it, here’s a new one for you. You can markup photos directly from the Messages app. That’s right, drawing dog ears on your friend’s graduation photo and sharing it in a group chat just got infinitely easier.
The Markup feature is the same that we saw in the Photos app. It’s also available here. You’ll be able to doodle over the image, zoom in, write some text, choose different fonts and that’s it. How To Markup Images in Message
Step 1: Open the Messages app and go to the conversation.
Step 2: Besides the “iMessage” text field, tap on the “Camera” icon (if you can’t see it, tap the “right arrow” button). You’ll now see a camera viewfinder and all the latest photos. Either click a photo or choose one from the library. To see all photos, tap the “Grid” button.
Once you’ve selected the photo, it will now show up in the “iMessage” text field on top.
Step 3: Now tap on the image.
You’ll see it full screen now.
Below will be a “Markup” option.
Step 4: Tap it and you’ll now be in the markup editing screen. The tools will be laid down below.
Once you’re done editing, tap “Done“, you’ll be back to the conversation, with the updated image in the preview.
Step 5: Tap the blue “up” icon to send the image.
