Every once in a while we come across a jailbreak tweak or theme that just blows our minds away.

NextGenUI, a new theme for iOS 7 falls in this category. After enabling the theme, you will probably wonder if you are using an iOS device while you’re on the Home screen, as it completely transforms it.

According to the developer, who goes by the handle GroovyCarrot, NextGenUI was inspired by next generation games.

NextGenUI is a spacial interface concept based on the idea of having all of your applications represented as graphical nodes, with a futuristic design; NGUI4 is full of features and interactivity.

The theme does not depend on either WinterBoard or DreamBoard, so you can enable it via the Settings app after you’ve installed it on your jailbroken iOS device (Settings > NextGenUI > Enable), and respring the device.

You can tap and hold anywhere on the Home screen to add and modify nodes. You can also use the pinch gesture to resize the nodes, and moving nodes close to each other  results in linking them.

When you tap and hold on the Home screen to create a node, you get two options: “app” and “data store”. Tapping on “app” will give you quick access to all the apps installed on your iPhone. You can select the one you want from the list to associate the app with the node. “Datastore” is like a folder that allows you to add more than one app. The coverflow effect for “datastore” is pretty cool, but I’ve noticed that it takes some time to load the apps.

Nodes have each have a flag representing the name of application it represents, or the group of apps you have placed in a node that can store multiple applications such as the data storage node. These flags can be toggled on and off individually to preference.

You can change the color of the theme, enable or disable animations via the Settings app. The Settings app can be found in the main node called iPhone.

Check our detailed video walkthrough of the theme, so you can get a much better idea of how the theme transforms Home screen as these photos do not do justice to the theme.

NextGenUI is available on Cydia for $2.99. The theme is not perfect, as sometimes it needs more than one tap to launch an app or a folder with the new theme, which can get annoying.

But it is easily one of the coolest themes I’ve seen so far for the iPhone. Let me know what you think in the comments.
