Earlier this month, Apple had stopped signing iOS 8.4.1, which meant that users couldn’t downgrade to iOS 8.4.1.

However, if you’ve an iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 4S, iPad 3 and iPad 2, then there is now a way to downgrade back to iOS 8.4.1.

Developer of OdysseusOTA, the command line tool that allowed you to downgrade iPhone 4s and iPad 2 from iOS 8.x.x to iOS 6.1.3, has released a new version of his tool. OdysseusOTA 2 allows you to downgrade iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 4S, iPad 3 and iPad 2 to iOS 8.4.1. It also allows you to upgrade from iOS 7.x.x to iOS 8.4.1 instead of upgrading to the latest version of iOS 9.

tihmstar, the developer of Developer of OdysseusOTA 2 explain how it works:

This works because apple still signs 8.4.1 OTAblobs for these devices and we have keys for them. This method does not work on any other iOS version.

A jailbreak is required for downgrading.

You can check out the video below to see the downgrade process.

The links to the necessary tools and the readme.txt which has the list of commands are available in the description of the video.
