Pangu Jailbreak iOS 9.1

We’ve some great news for jailbreakers who are still on iOS 9.1. The PanGu Jailbreak team has just released a new version of their tool to jailbreak iOS 9.1, making it the first jailbreak for iPad Pro, which was launched late last year.

Apple had patched two vulnerabilities used in the Pangu iOS 9 Jailbreak in iOS 9.1 in October, so it has been a very long wait for the jailbreak community.

According to Pangu’s website, the untethered iOS 9.1 jailbreak works only on 64-bit devices such as:

  • iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 5s
  • iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad mini 4, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2, iPad Pro

So it is not compatible with the following devices currently:

  • iPhone 5, iPhone 5c
  • iPod touch 5G
  • iPad mini, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4

PanGu jailbreak for iOS 9.1 is available for both Mac and Windows. You can download Pangu jailbreak for iOS 9 – iOS 9.1 from our download page.

One of the golden rules of jailbreaking is to stay where you’re and avoid updating your device to the latest iOS software update to improve your chances of jailbreaking your iOS device. Today’s release by PanGu has validated that rule once again. If you’ve followed the rule, then let us know how if you’ve managed to successfully jailbreak iOS 9.1.

Few weeks back PanGu team had recommended upgrading to iOS 9.2.1, so it is intriguing that they decided to release the jailbreak for iOS 9.1. We would loved a jailbreak for iOS 9.2.1, but it is great to see the PanGu team figuring out a way to jailbreak iOS 9.1.
