TaiG iOS 8.3 - iOS 8.1.3 Jailbreak

With the imminent release of iOS 8.4, the TaiG team has released TaiG 2.0, the much-awaited jailbreak for iOS 8.3 to iOS 8.1.3.

So TaiG 2.0 jailbreak will work with iOS 8.1.3, iOS 8.2 and iOS 8.3. The TaiG jailbreak supports following iOS 8.3 – iOS 8.1.3 devices:

  • iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4S
  • iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad 2
  • iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2, iPad mini
  • iPod touch 5G

TaiG jailbreak is currently available only for Windows. For now, Mac users will have to run Windows in a virtual machine to use the TaiG jailbreak.

The timing of the jailbreak is interesting as you would have expected them to wait for Apple to release iOS 8.4 GM later today. Pangu, the other Chinese team had also announced that they’ll be releasing the iOS 8.3 jailbreak and had demoed it few days back.

You can download the latest version from our TaiG download page. We’ll publish the tutorial shortly, so do stay tuned.

Please note that since Cydia Substrate is not compatible with iOS 8.3 – iOS 8.1.3 yet, most of the jailbreak apps and tweaks won’t work currently. But we expect saurik to release a new version of Cydia Substrate that is compatible with iOS 8.3 – iOS 8.1.3 shortly. We also expect other Cydia developers to also release an update for their jailbreak apps and tweaks to make them compatible with iOS 8.3 – iOS 8.1.3.

Update 2:

If the jailbreak process is stuck at 20%, followed by error (-1101), then you can check our post to see if it helps resolve the issue when TaiG gets stuck.

Update 1:

If you’re getting the error “Apple driver has not been found please download and install iTunes”, then try to install iTunes 12.1.2 for Windows (64-bit – for older video cards) from this link. Install as you would do normally. It should not affect your iTunes Library. Let us know if it fixes the problem. You can check our article for more details:
